An American Brewery

A view from the bar of this midtown Manhattan brewery. A group of friends and I popped in for a beer after seeing the taping of the Carson Daly Show last year. I thought it was this very "American" pub, unique and homey. Oh what a treasure, right in midtown! Turns out it's a chain! Quel dommage! Wasn't until I found one near Herald Square on another outing this year that I realized it. Literally, right next door to the Empire State Building entrance, and across the street from City University of New York, this bar is well-appointed with mahoghany wood on the bar, small lamps with burgundy shades, bar tables near the window looking out on a busy 5th Avenue, but, alas, the food is still mediocre. Quel mediocre?
